Pretty Beach garden

The clients wanted a garden linking the old cottage to the new studio.

With a functional, working vegetable garden that doubles as a relaxing area for lunch.

Sandstone walls, granite paths and informal borders of Mediterranean herbs. Construction of a deck on the new studio brought the garden into the house.

 

 

 

Hardys Bay garden

The client wanted to return his block to a more natural bushland setting. Hardwood timber stairs and landings were constructed in an informal ascent to the house.

Local endemic species were selected for their hardiness and to give the garden a timelessness.

Large trees were planted to replace several lost in the construction of the garage.

A small river pebbled creek was constructed around a huge spotted gum.

Visitors need to cross the stream to gain entry to the house.

The brief here was simple and elegant. A garden that looks after itself in any season. Structures that integrate with the existing landscape.

 

Araluen Drive garden

These clients needed new access to their renovated weekender. An informal stairway was constructed that fit into the gentle slope of the hill. A low maintenance garden was added to soften the garage.
